Jesus or Jehoshua (Yeshua really)?
The name "Jesus" in English is a result of a linguistic journey from the Hebrew name Yeshua (which was shortened from Jehoshua or Yehoshua) through Greek and Latin. Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ), a later form of Yehoshua, also means “salvation.” Yeshua is the Aramaic and shorter Hebrew version of Yehoshua. The name Yeshua was transliterated into Greek as Iēsous, which then became Iesus in Latin. The shift to the English "Jesus" occurred with the evolution of the English language, particularly the introduction of the letter "J" and the Great Vowel Shift around the 12th-16th century. While the name "Jesus" is now widely used, the original Hebrew name was Yeshua.
Salvation doesn’t depend on using Yeshua instead of Jesus; it is a preference for us, but not a requirement of salvation or membership.
So why the name Jehoshua? It was available as a .org, which made sense at the time, though with further study, we find that Josephus, the best known and considered the most reliable historian that lived in his time and region, used Yeshua. So, we have registered some other domain names to use in the future rather than this one.
